Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule. Maybe this isn’t everyone’s version of “growing up” but that’s what this was for me. 👉Just ask for it. Really, you would be surprised. Might be easier to switch to a new company and ask. I did that 3 years into my career.

And 🛑 wasting your time at a company that under-values you severely. Sometimes switching companies every 2 years or so will allow you to keep raising the bar for yourself.

Any resume writer referrals? I’m trying to make the jump into project management. I have 13YOE managing cross-departmental projects and people, and I’d like to shed the general EA work of calendars/travel/expenses. But recruiters just see my most recent role is EA and that’s all they want to talk to me about. I’m hoping a better written resume will help target algorithms to get my resume viewed for other roles.

My manager sat me down yesterday to go over a report I made, which wasn’t great. He have me good feedback. But then he said it’s his fault for not being clear/giving me direction and told me it’s up to him to figure out how to get me up to speed.

Now…he left work a little earlier and just seemed done with the day. I’m afraid he is disappointed with me for not figuring out myself on how to get up to speed. Am I failing as his report? I feel so out of place.

Something funny happened yesterday. Ordered take out for my family and went to go pick it up. I get there mask on, cold, my jacket is zipped to my nose. I'm like I'm here to pick up. I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. The next thing I know, I get a ping from his EA to set up time for me to chat with him and my director tomorrow. I am getting in trouble tomorrow, right?
