Thats great awareness that you’re able to identify areas for improvement or change of strategy. Language is huge for me. I like to frame my language around inquisition rather than instruction, when I can and is appropriate. I often like to start my conversations with = what would you think about…, let me know what you think but what about…, I’m just thinking out loud, but what if…

Things like that so that I’m just offering insight and suggestions and then let my team figure out how to approach (when the situation doesn’t call for clear instruction, obviously) :) 👍🏻

Totally get this. I’ve found that framing things like “I’m brainstorming aloud here” or “this is just one take, not the final word” can give people permission to not jump into overdrive. It still feels weird, but it’s way better than having someone burn a whole day fixing something minor.

However, wondering if any other OR RN’s have had issues with CSFAs feeling and acting like they are in charge of the room or attempt to carry out tasks that you as an RN are supposed to do? I had a great review and a 5.5% raise and a great bonus at my company. But I also got a new Director and a peer manager of mine left the company, so I will be absorbing her team. In addition, my director said I will be receiving 'deep delegation' from them. I don't mind more work, but deep delegation is a new term I've never heard. What does that mean lol?

Our annual reviews are approaching & one of my direct reports has been with us for almost six years w/ little growth. My reco was to let him go & find a stronger, hungrier & more motivated designer at the same level. However, my boss instead wants us to promote him in hopes that will spark some motivation. I am not behind this decision & have voiced my multitude of concerns in promoting an employee who doesn't deserve it. HR is behind the decision! Thoughts on promoting an undeserving report?
