I feel that AI is very over hyped. Sure, there's a use for it, but it's small and niche and should not be used to replace humans. Hopefuly the companies who use AI too much will learn their lesson as people stop doing business with them.
I agree and disagree. Chatbots have certainly caused it to be overhyped. But it's not niche, it's widely applicable. People just only notice what's in their face (chatbots)
Who's even asking for this stuff? Companies who want to make a quick buck by getting rid of their workers? Just because we can do something doesn't mean that we should. I think this hol AI thing is the epitome of hubris.
You want a good reason to develop this stuff? Easy, the medical field
I thought so too, but look into what Klarna is doing. Still feel we are way far away from the mark, but this is the first “production” use case I have seen.

Definitely not overhyped. There are lots of practical and real world applications for it. It is the new “internet” if you will. Imagine someone saying the internet is overhyped in the early 90s and only has a niche area for the military.
This. It’s here to stay and grow. The main question is what happens to the millions of jobs it replaces? What happens to those families and those bills that come due? The internet created jobs, AI replaced jobs - they are not the same.
Why do you think it’s overhyped?
