why there is so much to learn for java developer ? Cracking interview is tough. You need be wellversed with all the things in world database devops java with its n no of versions DSA cloud and list goes on.You are not expected to do a single mistake in interview and after all this struggle you will not be working on greenfield projects.I personally feel its too much to prepare for interviews and many rejections will follow before selection.
Please post your optimistic approach.

Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

IAM engineer is something I’ve seen quite a bit. I don’t really want to do internal audit but I’m not doing another busy season and it seems like no one wants me for anything I’m interested in. I’ve tried getting feedback after every interview and it’s radio silence, it’s extremely frustrating.
To be honest it's a bit of a rocky time to try to move. I'd keep applying while also looking internally - if you can find an interesting opening at your firm for an associate reach out to a manager on that team
See if you can pivot within your firm. Sounds like your dislike is for the work, not the firm. There are likely other interesting audits or assessments that could be more exciting for you. I pivoted from business process SOX work to specializing in Cyber IA and security compliance work within my firm.
Don't be afraid to reach out to Managers, Senior Managers, and PPMDs to express your interest in the line of work you want exposure to. Ask them what you can do to get staffed on those specific projects.
Happens to all of us bud. There’s no escape
I was gonna say do salesforce risk consulting, like pick an application (I chose salesforce) to initiate a pivot from Sox/FSA/soc reporting. And just find a place that supports getting certs in the tool. I’ll eventually work my way to pivot to a PM In Salesforce implementation - and pwc is paying me to get management experience on salesforce implementations . Right now it’s controls based, but they pay for exams and trainings and I get bonuses for certs so as long as I can tie manage it’s a great in between gig

Don’t fall for the internal audit bait too, if you feel trapped now….just wait
If you hate external sox audit that much, IA isn't gonna be much better. And don't worry 10 months is nothing in terms of getting pigeon holed
what's your total YOE? And your quals?
You can also apply to other non-grad program entry level roles : analyst/senior analyst etc. Plenty roles are still being recruited for all over. You may have to be a little more mobile location wise if you aren't already
