Not having a ton of credit card debt is what you have to show for it. Just because it isn’t tangible doesn’t mean it’s for nothing.
You did the right thing. That would’ve been my first priority to.
You made the right decision. Always pay off debt. If you don't have any or have money left over after resolving it, put most in savings and investment accounts and leave a little to the side to treat yourself.
Just remember how hard it was to get the bonus and change your spending habits.
Yeah I think in this case you have to "take your medicine" so to say. It hurts to spend that kind of money paying off old debt (though I find the stress relief powerful). Try to channel that into a better budget for the future so it doesn't happen again.
