I got laid off. Should I let hiring manager know or should I roll with it since it’s so recent?

Generally for these firms it’s only 2 weeks per year for severance. I have gone the lawyer (friend) route in the past and it’s been helpful and I nearly tripled my severance!

It’s not an issue right now. It won’t be an issue for at least a month. Eventually you’ll have to be honest about the date. But they will not know why you left

Hire a lawyer so you can get proper severance - I’m serious. You need to make sure you are being taken advantage of....

Getting laid off does not necessarily mean -ve for you. You don't need to mention it to your hiring manager unless specifically asked about it..
