I would not join as senior consultant. You would be manager/senior manager band.
I’m recruiting people with that same background at the SM level. I would downlevel them to M if they don’t have extensive people leader experience.
Appreciate your responsiveness D1. My 12 yoe is in the federal/ public sector not in the traditional private sector consulting space (which is what I meant). I’m looking to branch out and make a career pivot but I am unfamiliar with the salary bands at Big4 which presumably are very different from public sector salary scale. Approximate ranges would help.
I think it depends on what kind of experience you really have. As D1 says, if it’s true experience you should come in at the M/SM level. Remember though, if you don’t really have sales/BD experience, the SM level will be a tough role. If you don’t have sales or people leader experience, the M level will be just as tough. I will say, if you come in at the SC level, you’ll shine, no question.
For base wage, I would expect SC to be in the $120-190k range, M to be $160-225k, and no idea on SM.
Thank you !

did you mean senior consultant or senior manager?
