I have 15 years of experience and was previously drawing a CTC of 34 lacs. Unfortunately, I was laid off by JPMC 5 months ago, and during this period, I struggled to secure a new role. Recently, I received an offer from a product-based company (C1) and have another potential offer from a service-based company (C2), which places employees in investment banking organizations. Having 15 years you should be giving advice to junior with this kind of query .
Anyway with 15 years exp please check your priority, work life balance , location , wfh/wfo, business trips etc ..
Check which one is more stable etc.. because at this exp again company switch will be little bit difficult...
And if you don't have any dependencies .. only money is concern.. then negotiate till you get the maximum offer .. give more interviews ...
@SE1
1) Yes. Market condition is not good.
2) I think for PM role 42-45 lacs is normal these days @15 YOE.
3) I was laid off of by JPMC hence I am an immediate joiner.
If you have made up your mind to join c1 company then don't overnegotiate as you don't have anything in hand right now.Last thing you want is offer getting revoked.So play safe.
You are very naive...let me tell you the hard reality of IT. Offers will keep on drying as your experience grows. Salary and negotiating power will keep on decreasing. Its better to get the offer and not negotiate at all.
When asked about my expected CTC by both companies, I stated that I was looking to match my previous compensation, as I noticed that quoting a 30-40% hike often led to the conversation stalling with HR, and they wouldn't get back to me.
Now that I have an offer that matches my previous CTC, I'm considering negotiating further. Should I inform C2 about the offer from C1 to potentially leverage a higher offer from them? And if successful, should I then go back to C1 to negotiate a revised offer, possibly around 45 lacs?
Additionally, I'm wondering if it's advisable to use a fabricated offer in this process. I have done this before but ultimately did not join that company. I have made up my mind to join C1 org but want higher CTC.
You stick to your plan whatever you discussed, once the focus gets shifted spk to them right away.
There will be less motivation to join for same or less than cctc. Please don’t consider potential offer until you get it in your mail inbox as there are many such cases happening in this market. You may try to negotiate with c1 HR for possible hike and to what extent their budget can extend.

They have already sent the offer. Is it good to negotiate now?? I have joining in a week.
You can politely make a request to HR saying that you have rec'd an alternate offer but intend to join their (C1) org only. Just need them to match the offer. This is considering that they have room for salary increase.

Is she asks me to show the offer then?
