Thought experiment for you, fishies.
We all love to hate on billable hours. What’s a real, feasible alternative???
Small agency owner 🙋🏻♂️ I’ve wracked my brain and have 3 biz model options, none great:
Billable hrs: Generally accepted. We all know the downsides.
Pay4performance: Big upside potential, tons of risks.
Project pricing: Cloak for billable hours. You have to estimate project cost with something.
Who’s thought of a better approach??? Genuinely curious if there is one.

Is it unethical to use an agency proprietary tool (or an industry standard tool that you have access to through your agency) for an interview assignment for a new job?
Have you ever given a boss notice that you’re looking for new jobs? I usually would not at a big agency but should it be a courtesy if you’re at a small shop with limited resources?

Why is that you see people rise in the profession of teaching who prosper to Principals. Is it What they Know? or Who they Know? with a Masters and with Honors my district has never even considered my Principalship even though I completed all the requirements. The rule: Principal recommendation- I will never see a Leadership role. This is due to my role as a Lead for the Union. Not Fair - Teachers for Teachers - turned bad for future roles.

Nebraska nurses. We are moving to Nebraska this fall from out of state and I’ll be going back to work and I’m wondering what the going pay rate is for a BSN-RN in the Omaha and surrounding area. I have 7 years of experience, but I will have stayed home for 2 1/2 years by the time I start back.

Why do some people get things easily and others have to struggle for the same? I am tired of trying to level up in consulting, and just being beaten down every time. Maybe in general just tired of life I think…
Anyone suggestions on dealing with training someone new to the firm and fresh out of college? I don't know how many times I can explain things or ask for small tasks that never get done. Technically at the same level so can't pull the manager card

Hi guys! It's my first post on here :)
I finished engineering at uni (last year) and now work in engineering consulting, a lot of systems planning, feasibility studies, safety some high-lvl design. The thing is... It all feels like a pile of bs to me! Business playground where we chat obvious stuff that could be done by the first guy you ask from the campus. Is it just me? Any comments thoughts on that?
I’m really struggling with managing and directing others. I am an SC, not going for manager any time soon but keep getting chucked into stretch roles - any managers have tips on keeping the team tracking against the plan?
Advice on seeking/sourcing new job prospects? I’ve been in my project coordinator position for a year now but the projects are contract based. I don’t have 100% certainty that at the end of this contract (Spring 2023) that my company will be able to source another contract for me. Just want to keep my options open. I’ve mainly used indeed and other job boards to fine potential positions, just curious what other methods I may be ignorant to.

I need to know: when seniors tell you to learn excel formulas, read project materials, or basically anything productive during your 'free time' in between tasks, do you actually do it? I only managed to do it a couple of times, but afterwards I become a bit tired of doing this. So instead of learning, I rather rest. And not saying that I won't learn or anything, it's just that I feel that I learn better by doing.
Seems like reputation of DDV group aka Deal Transformation) at PwC is getting better due to compensation adjustments. Is this true?

I have been in the mental health field since 18 and I am desperately trying to get out. I have just over a year of experience in corporate operations and working with stakeholders. Does anyone know if I should bother looking at consulting job such a Deloitte as I know they are friendly to people that don’t have experience. Do I need to have tech skills or are there non tech consulting jobs? I’m 24, starting my MBA this year.
