I have 2 carriers splitting bills on experts. They're over 90 days overdue paying our experts in a wrongful death case now set for trial. How can I politely rattle their cages to pay the bills immediately?

I’d also add letting the adjusters know that these experts will not cooperate with scheduling any additional phone conferences or trial prep meetings until they are paid in full.

We often deal with this at my ID firm too.

Adjusters are busy. Mark the email urgent. Call and zero out to get someone that can assist. Make sure the adjuster realizes the deadlines. Adjusters tackle biggest fires first so just have to grab the persons attention. They won’t be offended.

This. We a ton going on at any given time. If you politely say hey hey hey hey please help, I WILL prioritize it, I just need to know it’s more important than any of the 70 other things people are asking for help on

This is a great way to burn bridges with experts, to the detriment of the carriers. Instead of advocating to protect the interests of the carrier, counsel has to stop what they are doing and fuss with admin details like this. Why do managers of claims departments and the senior leadership of carriers continue to allow their departments to be so understaffed? Are their profit margins that thin? If so, why don't they raise premiums?

So, here it is. I was having joining on last week October as a senior analyst data science in Tiger Analytics. Today I got an call from HR that due to economic recession we are going to delay your date of joining by 2 months. My notice period was of 3 months. So total duration would be 5 months. Infact even after that too they didn't send me revised offer letter. There is something wrong with this company.

I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. It is an important trait to have in this job and I just don't know how to do this. It makes me very upset - I even sought therapy but wasn't useful. I can't spend 14 hours each day feeling like this:(

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
