I have 2 years experience as an marketing analytics consultant. It involves a lot of Microsoft excel, building PowerPoint decks/reports and presenting to client the performance of their marketing (ROI) and improvement points. I have a MSc in business. Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I got a promotion a year and 3 months ago, and got a pay raise 5 months ago. Could I still ask for a promotion to SAE if I have been supporting a team more as one? Promotions are hard to stab with.

compared with a role at a smaller mga, higher salary (around 30%) more , more visibility career wise and some great employee benefits , management seem to be supportive and low staff turnover

Hi guys I am posting this again I have offer of almost same package from Accenture and IBM . Accenture offering is very slight more but that's not my key consideration. Which company is better in terms of job security, work life balance. That's the top most factor I am considering. Is it common for HOA to ask you to prove your car registration is up to date?

Commercial real estate question. When a residential property will likely zone commercial in the coming years, do we, the owner, wait for a buyer/developer to contact us?

Our appraisal came through exactly as the offer price we put. Apparently by lenders 3rd party. Isnt that a bit fishy? If it came in lower our contract has the option to negotiate a bit with seller. Is lender just trying to push this along faster? I'm pretty sure in this crazy market the home is not valued at what we offered. Why would seller put a much lower asking price then? Make no sense. Please advise!

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?

Finally got an offer accepted on a home I love! (In DC) Spent months searching. Next thing is getting to the closing date.

Now I feel super anxious about everything going thru and getting the keys. How difficult is that process of getting to close, have heard the underwriting portion could be a headache?

Is it okay to buy a home worth 660K for a couple earning 325K TC together? The HOA and taxes for this home bring the monthly payment up to ~4.8K which is ~32% of our monthly take home after tax…we’re first time home buyers, any advise is appreciated!

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

How easy is it to get a mortgage for the second home?

Went into a multi family property 50/50 with a relative against my gut. Things are going horrible. Need to get out. Best options? Buy him out? He invested maybe 4-5K in time (demolition work) and 2K in cash. I’ve managed the whole thing for 9 months. 10% of gross rents (as a management fee) would be about the same (6-7K)). Bought at low in market just after COVID hit. I want to keep the building. Seems fair to give him his initial investment back + some additional money for market gains. Help!
