I have 25+ years copywriting experience including banking, tech, and pharma, and I can't demand anywhere near what I could just a few years ago. I've cut my hourly rate by 30% to be considered for any freelance gig, and am getting pressured to cut it 40-50% by recruiters (I was told by one I'm asking for "West Coast money" on the East Coast 🙄).
