I have a 2/2 town house in Winston Salem NC. I’ve only had it for less then a year, but I am living in FL. I have it rented. I hear the value of homes in NC will continue to grow… my question…Should I keep it? Or sell it?

Did you buy it as a long distance rental? Are you able to manage it effectively? Do you need money right now?

As Dave Ramsey would put it, would you buy this rental in NC today living in FL? If the answer is no, sell it. Sometimes, the hassle is not worth it.

Winston-Salem is a cool town. I love visiting, we go a few times a year for work but I’m not sure it’s the best market? I think there are some rough areas also some great ones. What part of town is it in?

That said, I’m a big believer in buying and holding as long as you can or at least until you know what you want to do with the cash from the sale. At the very least I’d hold it for 2 years so you don’t have to pay capital gains.

Hey friends. My wife and I are looking to start investing in the market outside of our 401ks, hsa etc. We opened a Charles Schwab brokerage account and planning to transfer 2-3k/mo. We’re in our late 20s/early 30 and likely won’t need to touch the money for 10+ years. What should be our investment strategy? How should we allocate to what funds? Thinking of splitting evenly across large, mid, small caps, and growth, value funds using DCA.

Hi All,

Was just told to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable biz strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact: we have a large product innovation, digital engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.

Hoping to make a big difference and include CSR/Sust audits and projects beyond for our clients! Any tips?

I am selling house and remodeling both master bath and kids bath. Got quote for 29k for both and I buy floors and cabinets.question is I have a very big whirlpool tub and tiles around it discolored. It’s a hassle to lift it up change the tiles and fixtures and put it back. It’s old but works great. Remodeling ppl recommend get rid of it, give space to buyers if they want to buy standalone tub. I thought it adds value to have whirlpool tub. But can’t even change fixture. Should I get rid of it?

Looked at a house (new build) and MIL said the vinyl windows imply the whole house is probably made with cheap, shoddy materials. She thinks everything has to be wood Marvin windows or bust.
