Comparing yourself to others is a losing strategy. The company believed your perceived peer was a better fit for that position. Prove your value and consistently deliver work that validates what you believe your value is.

You are wrong! You do not have equal skills and experience. This person had better timing (got hired first) and better interview skills (got hired in a more senior position). Yes, there is some luck involved also 🤷‍♂️, but this is life

You can try! This will let them know that you feel you deserve more and are just as capable as your manager. However, I am getting the impression that you think 'fairness' should play a role here, and I want to make it clear that these situations are NOT fair, because there are things out of your control can dictate your future. What's your plan if they don't respond in a favorable way and they say you need to work and show us that you are manager material?

Found out a someone a level above me is the same age with comparable experience and I had to tell them to do something the other day. Just how it goes.

Starting the interview loop again for a PgM role in UX at Google. I received good feedback the first set of interviews I did for a previous role but I didn’t get to the hiring committee. I would like to increase my chances this time since there are multiple roles open across different teams. I’m really worried about the GCA round since this loop is different and I don’t have experience in UX. Does anyone have any resources that would be useful for me to leverage for this round?

Applied to multiple positions (different roles) at PwC consulting on which I perfectly match and I received quick rejection emails (within few days /hours which I appreciate not like EY who takes months or Deloitte who completely ghosts you). All the other big 4 got back to me positively with interviews. It's not my resume, my cover letter or how I match to the roles. I don't understand what is happening.. I really would like to get at least a screening call from PwC ( I really like the company)

All, this is my first post and I just want to share that I passed the first Amazon interview for Technical Program Manager and am heading to on-site virtual interviews! I have 20 years of corporate tech in a traditional F500 company (top 50). The only thing I can say that I like about my current job is the work-life balance and some of the people. But the work itself is soul crushing and the industry is stagnant. To those who are 40+ years old, is it crazy to change now?

Can someone explain how so many people have competing offers for negotiation? I keep hearing “don’t expect to have a strong case for negotiation unless you have a competing offer”. Wouldn’t that have to line up perfectly with you interviewing for multiple roles at the same time?? An offer has a quick expiration period... or do you negotiate with an expired offer you rejected within the past few weeks.

Let me start by saying I love Accenture. Accenture has given me an opportunity to literally change my life for the better. That being said, I feel like my head is always being put in a box here. I feel frustrated in certain situations because I want to be innovative and move fast, but there’s a certain culture that forces me to reign back that innovation that I imagine exists in a more entrepreneurial role. Not sure what to do :/
