High risk, low reward investment ideas?

Hi, I'm new to Dallas. Have been eyeing on rental investment in Dallas. Looking into Zillow, properties in Arlington seem to have good appreciation. Is it good idea to invest in Arlington? What other areas in Dallas can I consider (checked Carrollton, Plano, Coppell, Addison).

Is it better to have SFH for monthly cash flow or passive MF deals through a private syndicate? Friend told me that you need to have $1.5m invested in MF to generate 60k a year approx but it’s much better than dealing with tenants and maintenance. What would have been a better offer?

Working on a divorce where the father is claiming that he is unemployed because of the previous administration’s actions with DACA (he was brought to the States as a child). I know that the memo rescinding DACA was ultimately vacated—but OC is unsure whether this would count as voluntary unemployment for child support purposes. I believe it does as the application period to renew DACA benefits was reopened in 2020. Thoughts?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Anyone been able to work from Dubai for a UK/US firm and benefit from no taxes? I know if you are a US citizen you pay taxes where you are globally, but if you are British, then you only pay income tax on UK income - so if you live more than half the year abroad you are classed as non-domicile resident, but wanted to hear if anyone’s done this or heard about it?

I want to buy a large TV for Cyber Monday but have always been lower income. I would feel bad having family over with an expensive TV. I don't really need it. Our house is still very much low budget. I haven't made any real upgrades since getting a new job.

Is this a weird rationalization or logical? I am kind of torn so I considered just using that money for a vacation and maybe buying a TV next year... though I'll likely do this again at that time.

It’s interesting how ambition can actually be a bad thing. I want to make tens of millions and impact millions of people and leave a big legacy. But then the problem is with dreams that big I struggle so much to relax. I feel so much pressure to always be productive. I’m a human doing not a human being. And then I also think “well dang if I want to accomplish all these things I should be further by now” which that isn’t good for mental health either. I wish I was content with less

I see two crowds these days. One thinks housing market will crash. The other thinks housing market will soar.
