100% this. They have probably already determined you are competent based on your resume and any prior discussions. They want to make sure you are someone they want to work with
Don't worry about it too much. It'll probably be more of a casual conversation and they might ask some questions about your experience and background.
The best approach is to be personable and professional. A call like that could be to get a feel for what you're like to work with, so you want to be at the top of your game but also approachable, if that makes sense.
act like a person, not a robot. if you’re meeting with the hiring partner, the firm already knows you’re capable and smart so they really want a vibe check. don’t be afraid to let your personality show. best interviews are when you can connect on a human level about anything other than work imo.
