I am the in house employment counsel for the company - and now feel like I am in a weird position. Can I file an EEO complaint against my client, or do they just get to do whatever they want to me? This summer I’m due for a promotion to senior in the transaction services practice at a consulting firm that’s a direct competitor to the Big 4. I’d like to move to Big 4 for a better salary, even if it comes at the cost of worse hours. Do I need to wait for the promotion to make that transition or could I feasibly get a promotional hire into a senior role at a big 4 with 1.5-2 years of experience?

Currently working at AM100 firm as a 7th yr litigation associate. The goal is to go in-house but haven't had a lot of luck getting past the first or second round of interviews. I have an offer for an in-house contract position (12-18 months) working on a project that's heavily regulatory and would require a lot of work drafting policies and procedures. Any thoughts on whether a contract position might be worth taking to get the experience I need for a real in-house job?

3 years ago was recruited away from D to a PE portfolio company to run M&A and other strategy work. Things have gone well and company is prepping for exit. Thinking about going back to consulting after exit: what options are out there? I left D as an M and would only consider returning as “senior” SM or higher.
