I have been in Product for a decade now. I know that I want to start my own company in the future. I am planning my next career move as the one that potentially teaches me the chops for how to do this. What is the best role to be in in a company or a startup to learn the chops of how to run your own business?

I’m interested in becoming a product manager but I don’t think I have the right background. My background is in enablement/product training/L&D. I don’t have a technical background. I work closely with the PMs at my current company and would love to get to do what they do. Is it possible to be a product manager without a technical background? Are there any certification type programs that could boost my credentials and employers would actually care about? Or is this transition a pipe dream?

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

I was hired within the last year as a site supervisor. I did well my first few projects with the company. They asked if I’d be interested in transitioning into a construction manager role. I agreed. Now I still am the site supervisor on projects but I’m also doing all the construction manger duties on the project as well. Essentially 2 jobs for one salary. We have yearly reviews in December but no talks of raise have been discussed. Any help on approaching this to my boss?
