Keep pushing. I was laid off in Nov and landed 3 roles a couple of weeks ago so overall too me 4 months to land something…
I hope you find a job soon sorry to hear that I was laid off in October and got a job in November but i understand your pain
Figure out 100 best startups or small companies around you( sometimes company need local candidates so you will have an edge) and also nationwide remote (I work remote). Good luck to you and reach out to me personally if I can help in any other way.
Unfortunately, it's a very bad time in the tech sector right now. I've been through bad times before with the implosion of the .com bubble and the collapse of the economy in 2007 so these events happen and they are always terrible to go through, but just realize that things always get better. If you are having problems finding a regular FTE position don't shy away from contract work to pay the bills while searching.
I'm on a contract that should convert too, but I'll caution you about one thing: sometimes they'll try to seriously undercut what you are making on contract when you convert. I converted once at another place and they tried to initially undercut me by $10K. I still took a hit to convert and things never got any better. Moral of the story: keep looking around to keep your options open.
How can I help?
Hang in there. It will get better
