I think it's an interesting read from the perspective of learning about the mentality of people who are willing to do anything to get ahead. Even if you have no interest in implementing these tactics into your life, I think there's a lot of value in being able to recognize the patterns described in the book as a way to protect yourself from manipulation and social engineering. It's a good read when filtered through a critical lens and not taking everything at face value.
This book would be more aptly titled "48 Ways to Indulge in Your Narcissistic Fantasy". Read it as a cautionary tale so that you may be able to spot people who live with this mentality, but anyone with emotional intelligence and any amount of moral fiber will tell you this is no respectable way to live your life.
Ask yourself about the spirit behind it. That's part of guarding our ear and eye gates. That's always a good way to determine if you should or shouldn't engage with something. One could argue that this is about learning how people are and protecting yourself, but that's also what Godly discernment does. The last thing you want to do is open yourself up to things God doesn't want you to be open to. But Ask God if He is okay with you reading this and if you don't get a clear go ahead chances are it's a no.
For me it’s not bad to understand how people utilize these tactics in the real world. However some of these laws are against what God intended us to live out as believers. Some of the laws which you can find online are as follows:
“Crush Your Enemy Totally”
“Get others to do the work for you but always take the credit”
“Pose as a friend work as a spy”
Ofcourse there things that are true in the book that you could probably find in scripture in them as well. Id say you can read it but I wouldn’t put everything to practice in life. That can be said about any book you read that isn’t scripture though. Even self help or some Christian inspired books. With that said I read it when I was in college. Was a good read then. If I read it today I’d be reading it from a much more mature spiritual lense and know what to chew and spit out.
Thank you for sharing
I actually have not read that book either but not because of my religious beliefs? Is this book anti Christian? Why wouldn’t a Christian want to read it? Hahaha I am a little confused!

Great opportunity to match up God’s will and way against it.
I love to find opportunities to understand how God can use us to minister and find scripture that supports a healthy path of thinking.
