I have no idea what my current position is worth and I'm the only one at my company that does it. I've been with my current company for 5+ years and my responsibilities have grown significantly. They are unfortunately very industry specific and even more so company specific. I've yet to find a comparable position anywhere. Our company is company small and the owner's business practice's are somewhat outdated, including his idea of appropriate salaries. How do I figure out what's fair?

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more.
