If your goal is L&E and you don’t have prior experience, ID firms are a good stepping stone. You’ll get a lot of experience and can then try to move up the ladder to a better firm or one of the Big 4.
Why do you say that
If this is your first and only offer, then it’s a no brainer. Get your experience and leave after a few years if you don’t like the firm. Getting the experience in the first place is crucial.

I worked at Gordon Rees for 2 years and enjoyed it overall- nice people and helped me get into L&E. Now have done exclusively employment law at 2 other firms and the ID experience was really helpful because it pushed so much more advanced work to junior associates- I entered big law with more litigation skills than really anyone else at my level because of it.

If you plan to have kids, double check the parental leave policy at LB. The one at GR sucks.
