I have worked seasonally for many years at the same 2 restaurants. Up North for a full 6 months in the Summer and in Florida for a full 6 months in the Winter. I have moved so I will need to find a new Winter job. This year my family took turns caring for a family member. My turn just ended and I was going to look for a job until May 1st. If I came to you with great references would you consider hiring me for 4 months if you knew I would come back next November and work for a full 6 months?

We don't have seasonal workers in that type of situation, but we've had student workers who have left and come back. So sure, if someone does a good job and they can return later we'll have them. Of course, it depends on factors like if we'll have an opening. But generally speaking, bringing back someone you know is a good worker is always a good idea.

Good help is hard to find. That being said, not everyone has seasonal employees. As a manager though, I would definitely consider hiring someone like you.

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
