I interviewed a potential summer associate last week and they mentioned that they read and found my law review note (6+ years ago) interesting and I'm not sure whether our law schools are taking the "research your interviewers" suggestion too seriously.

With all the interviewees out there who can’t remember the name of the firm they are in, I would be impressed that this person did the research and was prepared to have a substantive discussion.

like

Ehhh I would have done the same.

Some firms or people include publications under their bio including law review notes. And besides, anything on the first page of Google results when they search you is fair game, I'd say!

Oh wow. Yeah that's intense. I thought it was more like a passing comment in how interesting they found the topic.

I graduated college around 6 years ago. I can barely remember my thesis topic and I spent a full semester and then some to research and write it. I would be so embarrassed if someone wanted to discuss it. Like, could you please summarize what I wrote? 😅

I am a new joinee to CTS . It's going to be a month now and I haven't received my laptop.

I gave one interview for a project and was selected. They assigned me allocation but haven't reached out to me after that.

I am not sure whom to reach out to for any query and to some people whom reached they don't respond with any answer .

What can I do to get a working project as i don't want to sit idle?

Considering joining a small 50-person company as the only attorney (prior attorney is retiring). (I am currently in-house at a F50). For others who have done the same path, what surprises did you have when moving from a large company to a small one?

For example, it sounds like I should not expect a document management system, based on a prior post in this bowl. I’m guessing expenses like state bar fees and cell phone are not reimbursed.

Any advice on things to expect (or not expect)?

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
