I interviewed with a company that I checked every single one of their boxes. I’ve been in accounting for over 15 years. It was between me and someone else who was having to leave a job, whereas I truly need one, and they were just out of school. Frustrated

Really depends on what the HM wants.. Someone with abit more experience/hit ground running or someone who is moldable/trainable, longer runway. If everything being equal, personality, chemistry, communication skills and you get beat out, they didn't want to spend the money and/or afraid you'll get bored. Also with 15 years, you should be at a controller level (if climbing the ladder was important), accting manager at a minimum. Good luck

Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co. Any advice?
