Unfortunately senior partners view not socializing by new hires as an issue with the new hire. If you want to stay there, maybe socialize but don’t share anything personal with them, don’t repeat anything you hear, etc. Keep it friendly and surface level. Partners consider those things for advancement.
Sounds like there's several green eyed twins in the office. Jealousy and envy. Remember the old saying, if they can't be as you are, they will make you out to be twice as evil as they are.
It's EVERY WHERE we go, unfortunately. Keep your poise and integrity because in the end it will Prevail.
I too don't associate with "The Chosen" but when I leave their numbers are going to drop. Hang tough!
Thank you. People come to me upset about issues and senior partners want me to tell them not to and essentially have a completely closed door policy because it's maybe staff think I'm in some clique. This idea that my named in every problem brought up lately is impossible for me to understand or accept.
What was always my strongest point, being someone people could come to is what I've to stop doing.
Sounds like the senior partners may be the ultimate issue. I've seen this before and it usually culminates into many associates leaving. Senior management ignoring issues, good people leave and you'll be left with more work. Good luck!
I 100% agree. I have said if I were a partner I'd take a stricter approach and they aren't for that and I feel like I've shot myself in the foot in terms of progression because of it. Two paralegals have left naming the same cash dept employee as a bully. The first stayed on the promise the person would be spoken to, she wasn't and the paralegal left 2 weeks later. The last one left quoting bullying which included thay same employee and still nothing was done. They've been with the company over 20 years and I think honestly the partners have no back bone.
I was initially very chatty etc but the bitching and general shit stirring was bad so I distanced myself. The partners mentioned it back then and that's why I distanced myself and now I have it's mentioned again. I feel like they're blind to the depth of the issues and the fact they were there years before I even joined, I feel like I'm being made the fall guy.
