American sucks. Was exec plat for 2 years. I've since made the switch to Southwest and have companion pass. The single greatest perk ever. Plus Southwest as a whole is great.
Been flying with AA for years, they're like having a weird, abusive but friendly, grandparent. If you play your cards right, amazing international redemptions and IRROPS handling, but really only for EXP and CK. They treat everybody else as trash.
American quality is trash. Delta much better flying experience, especially as you accumulate status. For someone who only flies 25k miles a year though, not sure it matters
Waiting for the #AAsucks director to surface
As an EXP, great benefits, awards, and always get treated well...at the lower levels, it's the same as every other airline
Overall I'm happy with American - I chose them because I was NYC to LA a lot and they do upgrades on that route (unlike Delta)
I second @d1. Southwest is the best domestic airline. The problem is lack of international destinations. American is the least reliable but most versatile imo
I fly out of NYC usually or CT
I do AA out of Boston, had good results overall
Ha.
Would you say United is better esp at the lower status levels
I've heard the quality is bad - I think the only thing making me interested was that I read the valuations were better (more bang for your buck) but this is helpful.
