I just found "The Financial Audit" by Caleb Hamer... I thought everyone wanted to get out of debt but to my surprise, a lot of young folks have tons of debt... Do you?

Ooh...I love a good book recommendation. Did you like this one?

I want to get out of debt and I think we've been very careful in our personal lives. Beyond a mortgage and a car loan, we have no debt. Late 30s to early 40s. We'll pay off everything in 8-11 more years.

It makes for a good show when you have people with debt, I do really like it though. Although in small doses, some of them are so out of touch it is crazy! Debt is kind of a fact of life to some degree, car loan, mortgage, student loans. My goal is to keep it in check though and not drown in it.

I just want to say to the Indian managers / SMs etc. stop taking everything so seriously and stressing people out on your teams. I have had managers who put initiative work so high in importance that it stresses me out about client work. Chill out and stop emailing on weekends. Hang out with your families! Doesn’t mean don’t work hard but chill the heck out people. Clearly this is just a job that doesn’t pay you well enough in the first place why are you stressing other people out too?!

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?
