I just got a call about a position at KPMG to be a Creative Writer that is part of advisory in a new “creative pod.” They say it’s cross functional, a part of consulting, and client facing, but it’s labeled as a creative writer? Not sure if this is a job I should take because on paper it looks like a demotion. Anyone have more insights into this role? Does anyone know why it’s labeled as “creative writer” and not just an analyst since its cross-functional?

I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. Making a switch from software engineer to product management.
I have been a one man show for most of my projects in years prior and have lead 2-3 engineers and 2 BAs on my recent projects.

How difficult is it to make a switch? 12 years experience in IT.

Is it possible to make a transition to VC (ideally senior associate / vp role) after a two year Associate stint in MM PE? I worry that the prior interest in moving late stage will be frowned upon by early stage investors among other issues
