I just got the offer to join as an Associate with BCG, after working ~1.5 years at my current firm.
Can any BCG 🐠 help me understand the difference between coming in as Associate vs Senior Associate? E.g. Consultant promotion timeline, expectations, etc.
Any advice on how to negotiate for the Sr. Associate position would be helpful.

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

Are there some background mechanics that I’m missing?

Now I have received another offer from a fintech organization in Berlin, Germany who are providing me 69k Euros as base salary + 5k Euros as RSU and also an on call support of 5k Euros annually + complete relocation assistance package. My wife currently doesn't have any offer for Germany and might need to search for a job after reaching there. Is it worth? Need your suggestions please.
