If you find yourself in an unexpected meeting in the foreseeable future, load up your voice memo and begin recoding before the meeting starts
This is legal in NY fyi

Recording meetings would never have crossed my mind....until they banned it.
Soon there will be enough content for a 24/7 spotify channel, filled with cringey and evil things spouted by omnicom weasels during meetings.

Does omnicom’s comms team exist? The last few weeks is some of the worse crisis PR work I’ve been witness to in this industry.
PR to shareholders is all they care about. Every ad professional hating them doesn’t really matter

Definitely IPG permitted recording as long as everyone in meeting call approved. Then the recording was posted to the meeting. Thanks, Omnicom for making work even more difficult!

Otter is also a good voice:transcribe app.
In all seriousness, I don’t understand this, can someone explain? Is it really about leaks?
It’s been a policy for a long time. You can get permission to record meetings though.
But you need to get permission a week in advance?
Omg. There’s a reason they’re OMG. Anytime I hear about them…it’s always awful (left agency land awhile ago, now a client)
On a serious note, use your phone.
IPG let us - not sure what the big deal is. Found it helpful if someone had to miss a call / if you had to dig through meeting notes. Speculating it could be about leaks or cloud storage? Dunno.
They are not allowing ANY meetings to be recorded? Even client meetings?
If you have to ask, HR would like to have a word with you
This isn’t new. Feel like it’s been like this for at least a year, probably longer. You can request permission to record
