I just joined a HF from a technical background and I’ll be sitting with the special situations team helping them optimize their investing process. I realize there’s no way I’m going to pass as a seasoned investor, but what can I do to beef up so I don’t totally embarrass myself? I would rate myself as just slightly above a novice on the knowledge scale (took accounting 101, read 5 or so investing books, and did all the interest theory and advanced probability courses for my math degree)

Despite these two collections have a 712-720 credit score.

So mortgage lenders care at all about the collections or is it mostly the credit score that matters?

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups.
