3.5% I’d be excited with that
I’m starting to see that. Thanks
Automatically getting one every year is pretty damn good. We don’t even get that. I’d rather see 4.5 or something that further outpaces inflation but, hey. You’re lucky. Haha.
Appreciate your info!
Joke. Midyear i had salary negation with my manager. Pointing out my accomplishments and very high regards. My evaluation was top notch. Just received my Merritt and just got the 3.9 % that I basically get every year. I have decided that my top notch is no longer worth me excering myself for nothing. I am working to work. Cost of travel, groceries, car insurance, rent. Everything goes up but pay. My health and stress get elevated. Well no more! I'm taking a stand and will only give what my job requires
If they weren’t going to give you the raise, they should give you a good bonus!
What is this salary increase you speak of? Lol
That’s great!!
Coach
That’s pretty standard. No one is gonna increase their employees by 10% or more lol. That’s a ton of money. Most I’ve gotten is 5% but I was paid low to begin with and there was inflation.
You’ll only get big jumps in salary if you leave and go to another company.
Coach
Yea that’s exactly why I’ve job hopped every few years. Quite honestly, I would love to pick a company and stay forever and retire with one after 20 or 30 years. But the reality is, those days are gone 😭
How’d your company do last year? If they had a good year, seems low.
I think it was okay! Higher than last year’s.
This thread is kind of sad..
Say more, please!
We get a pay rise every year. 3% for average performance. 4% for strong performance. 5% for excellent performance.
I was above average. But when I was excellent a couple years ago - it was still the same % increase. I’m annoyed. But have to remind myself that it’s better than nothing. Anyone else hiring? Hahah
Mine was around the same, with similar bonus amount
Ok! I suppose I should be more grateful.
Last year mine was 4%. Haven’t received this years yet.
Oh that kinda hurts. 1% in two years?!
3.67 % base increase !
Oh 0.17% more than me!
Standard merits seem to be sitting between 2and 3% - if you got an exceeds expectation review and 3.5, it’s a good chance you outpaced your team and someone else got less.
That’s true. My boss even said so. No details were given, but they said there’s just some other people that didn’t exactly do what she said and it didn’t help them during the review. But, I’ll try to be better at looking for a new job. These kids ain’t cheap! Haha
The only true way to grow salary at a rate that enables comfortable lifestyle and retirement savings is to grow your career. Doing the same job everyday for 20 years isn't going to cut it. I'm not saying anybody is doing that or isn't. I'm just saying based on experience. Why would a company pay someone 80% more after 20 years for the same job? After 20 years, entry level new hires probably go up 30-40% in salary. A bit more than half of the 70% higher rate as someone doing the same job over 20 years. It's a numbers game.
So true. Wish companies were more ethical
2%.
4.25% merit increase, but that was including a promotion. I heard the avg was 3.4%
Give or take, yeah.
I'd say 3% is pretty average. Had 6%+ every year for the last 3 years at my current employer and the work is very engaging. Needless to say, I think I'll be sticking around for a while.
1-3% is consistent in my experience.
*1% for just showing up
*3% for meeting expectations
I battle to get my team about 5% average increase for exceeding expectations and up to 8% (Max w/Sodexo) for top performers.
I make sure my team has their certifications in order, have confirmed participation in in-services documented and a letter of acknowledgment for stepping- up to tackle special projects, mentor new staff, graciously work double-shifts, etc.
I was able to get one of my overworked/underpaid guys a $5k raise and new job title.
Um, that sounds like COLA, not a salary increase.
Sorry about that. Sad to say the living adjustments should give a little cushion for the cost of inflation but it usually doesn’t. At the end of the day, prices are going up but our salaries will not match them at the same rate or more unless you’re getting an actual raise.
