I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon

Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.
Thanks in advance

That's the opposite of me . I started multi family hospitality during the start of the pandemic and have since moved up in that industry.

In this job market, only way to land an interview (let alone a job) is to know someone in the company you want to work for. If you can get to ask interview stage, then see if you can talk about how your past experience, including non-hospitality roles, have prepared you for the next step. Good luck!
You are overthinking it. Good to have an explanation of why you made a switch, but it won’t be something that stands hugely in your way. Highlight the experience you do have, and whatever else you did that gives you a bit of a different perspective now.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Go for it and apply for the position you want. They may have questions, just answer with sincerity. Make sure to highlight all of your past experience in hospitality. Maybe they won’t even ask or show concerns about it, who knows?

Leaving hospitality during the pandemic does not make you flaky, it makes you human. Most managers understand that now. If you connect what you learned in the other field back to hospitality skills, the gap can actually work in your favor.
That won’t make you sound flaky at all. Tons of people left hospitality during the pandemic, and coming back shows dedication. Just highlight how your time away gave you new skills that make you even stronger in guest service or management.
