TAKE SHORT TERM DISABILITY
Go get a doctors appointment ASAP. Don’t tell your doctor that it’s work related. Tell them it’s your personal life and you need help. Go on Reddit and look into this more. I guarantee you it’s probably other things triggering this as well… BUT ANYWAY… go on short term. Look for a new job while out and worse case quit when you finish short term.
I am really sorry you are feeling this way. I’ve been there. If you need to go, you go. You have to take care of yourself.
Not knowing your exact situation, if you’re trying to come up with other options, not sure if you can take a short term leave (not to stay, but maybe to get enough of a break to go back and transition your matters and depart). It sounds like you may be in crisis mode and a break and maybe some therapy could help.
Like I said, at the end of the day you just take care of yourself. Sure it may be considered unprofessional by some but in the grand scheme of things your mental health is more important.
You can take short term disability leave, assuming you have this benefit, as soon as you have a doctor’s support for doing so. Make an appointment with your primary care physician or psychiatrist ASAP—even virtually.
