Don’t move until you’ve signed the contract. Also, are there other agencies/prospects in that city if the job doesn’t work out?
Doing what Senior Copywriter suggests is very smart...
Do it, then update this thread about how much happier you are! I need the inspiration.
I recently made a similar move. New city. New agency. New faces. More interesting work possibilities. I’m thrilled. The change of scenery rekindled a creativity I haven’t felt in a few minutes. One thing that really helped was that I’ve made a point to go out at least once a week and do something interesting (concerts, art exhibits, sporting events, film festivals, sightseeing, photography, etc.). Good luck!
Not crazy. Don’t be afraid to take risks.
No. Live your life however you choose as long as it's your choice and you've figured out your priorities. There is no one size fits all or right/wrong answer.
No! Yolo— take smart risks. Do what you think will make you happy.
I’ve moved cities about ten times now. I’m 46
They all have their positives and negatives. I’m getting to the point where I really think the city is what you make it and what makes sense from a financial standpoint. Everything else is pretty relative.
Go for it
Do it! That's the best way to try a new city out. And just by starting a new job, you can make connections and expand your network.
