My job application status in portal says it is under review since one month but I haven't recieved any calls or mails. Does it mean I am still in consideration or they have put my candidature on hold?

Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Yeah, I feel like recruiting is a lot like dating. No one is going to be honest with why they’re rejecting you. A lot of “it’s not you, it’s me”

Funny but true haha
Did you get the name of the recruiter and their contact information? I had 30+ rejections before I was hired and my luck changed when I reached out to the recruiter and eventually she advocated for me to a partner for a different role.
Also, did you get email addresses for the people that interviewed you? I would reach out to them with an email saying thank you and I received a rejection but genuinely loved the team and would love to know what I can do to better so I can reapply with better credentials for the future. I’ve learned more senior managers are career coaches and/or happy to provide guidance when they can.
I did this for a different big 4 company and used the feedback to strengthen credentials and resume for the future. Their feedback also helped me eventually land the role I have now for a different firm.
I think following up is a sign you care. I would send an email, follow up in about a week or two if you don’t hear back. If you don’t hear back, THEY weren’t worth your time anyways and you don’t want to work with people like that anyways. Respect goes both ways and just because you didn’t get a job doesn’t mean you’re not qualified or can be in the future.
An honest feedback is not possible often because it could lead to lawsuits. If you didn't get the role, no worries. You will eventually land a great job.
And that's fair. If you prepared well and delivered well, then that is what's in your control.
I was thinking the employers are frowning at my age.
Too old
Honestly you may never really know.
Sometimes they don't have any besides a feeling. So there might not be much to say. Make sure you ask questions, show that you prepped, and always send a thank you after an interview.
If you worked with a recruiter or have contact info of an interviewer you can reach out and ask for genuine feedback.
If you want to talk yourself out of asking for it, then there you go, don’t ask. You’ll never know if they have any feedback for you to improve on unless you ask.
You dodged a bullet, some would say
I just got let go from a job i didnt even start because i wasn't a good fit.... was supposed to start the 26th... a friend of a friend babby momma probably needed a job....

What do you think changed? Why would they suddenly retract the offer?
At least you’re getting interview calls. I’m not even getting interviews despite applying to many places.

It’s really rough out there at the moment, have to just keep applying and something will come good for you eventually
Strong candidate but likely someone with a connection got it.. it’s not enough to be good right now
Yes I’d say so! Anyone vouching for you helps because even if you’re crushing interviews, there will be a bias towards a candidate that someone has recommended since they will then know how they actually work
What level are you and do you have any big four experience previously?
