I moved into commercial lines two years ago after spending five years in personal lines, and the difference was immediate. Suddenly, people were looping me into strategic meetings, taking my opinions more seriously, even treating me like I had “leveled up” somehow. I used to get brushed off constantly when I was quoting home and auto. It’s still the same industry, but the vibe couldn’t be more different. Is there really still a stigma around personal lines, or do we just not talk enough about how much it takes to do that job well?

Inspired by my first heartbreak. A painful time in my life that I couldn’t make sense of it.

Hello, I am a junior business administrator working in advisory operations. I have been with the company for 6 months, and was employed along with 2 other colleagues. I have picked the job up really fast and am even doing some “extra curricula’s” I really love my job. However I have recently found out I am being paid the same as an apprentice on my team, I usually do at 3 x the work he does whilst also doing my Cert CII. It has really disheartened me and I feel I should be earning more money

Just made a career pivot and accepted a job with Progressive in sales. I’ve heard more good things than bad about the company. Currently I make a base of $63k/yr and $1k/mo in bonuses pre-tax. I manage a performance for a team of licensed insurance agents (service-based role in a direct business environment), maintain our business relationships, and support adhoc training needs. Is there anyone else in this type of role who is able to share how this compares to similar positions and your general location?

98 almost 99k base salary in San Diego, CA not including the bonuses or OT… is this too low or reasonable?
