Big fan of YouTube TV. You can have three concurrent streams so I split it with two buddies
The answer to your last question is…it depends. Some providers (Comcast) charge less for cable and internet than just internet. It sucks because you also have to pay broadcast fees to get the channels that are free over the air
I have no idea how to watch sports
I was looking into this too. I only care about a few sports channels. I’m thinking of signing up for Sling TV - the Blue package with the Sports Extra package. Looks like the total is $46 per month. Seems like a lot but cheaper than a Comcast package with a bunch of channels I don’t need.
Haven’t signed up yet so I’m curious if anyone else has recs or experience with Sling.
For WiFi I have a 100mb package from Comcast for $55 per month. Didn’t need to sign up for any other service to get this.

If you're in a major area and only need local channels (ie, local teams only, really good for NFL) locast is free or $5 a month for no ads
I went down the rabbit hole of trying to rationalize tv / internet spend a few years ago. My take is that there weren’t that big of savings to be had by cutting Xfinity / fios tv packages and cobbling together one of solutions for sports and the handful of tv channels I really want given how expensive the internet only options are with the main providers.
