I definitely didn't aspire to be an administrative assistant lol that's for sure. If I could have made a living, I wanted to be a painter, but I saw the writing on the wall with that one haha. I want to pick it back up again as a hobby soon but time feels so limited right now
I would be doing something with food! Whether it was own a small cafe or gourmet deli, work at a food magazine, have my own blog or be a recipe developer, I wish the food industry had been a viable option when I was younger (for reference, Martha Stewart had only been around for about 2 years, the internet was in its infancy and blogs didn’t exist, cookbooks were boring and filled with illustrations instead of pictures). I’m too close to retirement to start over again and don’t have the energy for the food industry (it’s hard, hard work), and no desire to go back in time (love being my age), but if I knew now what I knew then, I would have done things much differently.

Something finance related. I did have a job offer for a budget analyst position and it didn't work out thanks to a former exec blocking the internal transfer. But that kind of thing is something I love. My favorite part of the day is when I get to do my execs expenses, or plan an event around a budget. As far as events go, I also love the research and planning aspect. Even better when I get to travel to the places to see them through.
I agree. I think working in an HR field would be more enjoyable in certain aspects. Being able to lift people up and motivate them to accomplish their individual goals. Administrative assistants are great and I do enjoy the flexibility of the job but I do wish my day to day work was more meaningful. Pushing virtual paper can be a little repetitive.
