I recently got promoted to sales manager, but I’m feeling like I’m just babysitting a bunch of overgrown kids. The job feels like it’s 90% coaching/managing and 10% actual strategy. Is this normal, or am I just in a crappy position?

I have a finance degree from UGA, but all of my experience (3.5 years) is in sales (tech and real estate), so no relevant internships unfortunately. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. Just accepted an opportunity as a district manager for an Insurance company. Not 100% sure about Commission-based only. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.
