I see my management team constantly in a state of chaos and it makes me wonder if I want that for myself or if I should stay at an individual contributor. Has anyone else ran into this dilemma? What did you end up doing? Would love any advice!

I’m both an individual contributor and I lead an office… personally I like to be in front of my clients and I don’t actively prospect anymore, so any new clients I onboard are people who I either meet at events or referrals…

Leadership doesn’t have to be messy, you just need to be organized and make sure that your directs understand what’s expected… I treat my team members like they’re adults, I don’t have time to babysit them…

You need to have a solid process in place and make sure everyone is on board… if they’re not on board, I’m more than happy to accept their resignation…

Thanks for the advice and sharing your experience.

Does it come with a pay raise?

It would come with a pay raise, but I’m not sure $15-20k more would be worth it for the constant chaos they seem to be in..

Are there any tax professionals in the Lancaster, PA area that are looking to leave public? The recruiter for my company says there's no one out there and I get that a LCOL area in Pennsylvania won't have the applicant pool as a bigger city but I find it hard to believe there are no tax people available for the jobs we have.

Hello all! I am looking for a job in finance/investments, but I’m having trouble attracting attention from employers. I have a finance degree from UGA, but all of my experience (3.5 years) is in sales (tech and real estate), so no relevant internships unfortunately. Any advice on how to market myself better and where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated!

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.
