I see some people drop everything and go on vacations, or not worry about what is on their plate. I play by the book and there seems to be endless responsibilities that don't have an easy button. I should be thankful for many blessings in my life. Some days it is harder to remember that. Balancing work, family, health, taking care of parents, repairs, social obligations, it all is too much. I am not asking for anything. Just a reminder to breath if anyone is in the same situation.

Agree - life is a balancing act with much to juggle. You don’t go on vacation? Or you still have to work on vacation? Or you just stress on vacation? I am not sure I follow.

Are you taking care of yourself?

At my employer managers are encouraged to maintain a firm expectation that we use our vacation days.

Very correct

I encourage you to take advantage of the free therapy sessions the firm offers. It really helps.

You have no idea what is going on in their life ir how they do it. Most people are just another duck on the pond and their legs are kicking just as hard as yours. You don't know what they are dealing with or what situation they are in. Mind your own business and worry about you.

Does anyone else feels like the job market today is like the 2013 Real Estate Market? It is a buyer’s market. It’s saturated with jobs, but no one wants to work. And recruits are not taking advantage of the ones who want to work.

The cycle repeats. #thirstythursdays

Have an internship next summer in a vertical I don’t want to work in and is completely unrelated to where I want to end up. However the firm is strong in PE. To try and break into that side after my internship at the same company, would it be more beneficial to take on a (very small boutique) PE internship or an IB internship this fall?

Does anyone use a brokerage account instead of a checking account? Mine offers a fee free debit/atm card and free checks which I'd rarely use but starting to question whether it is worth maintaining my "big bank" checking account that requires a $1500 minimum balance.

I also have a local credit union checking/savings that I'd use if I need any services or to deposit cash and a HYSA that gets my paycheck, is used for mortgage and credit card payments, and to transfer to checking or investments.

When do you predict the dip? I've been waiting for so long, but don't want to buy now. VTI seems inflated.

I’m maxing out my 401K, traditional IRA and HSA this year and paying for some house improvements. I have about $750K total investments and very close to $2M net worth, but realize that I am behind on investments if I want to do FIRE. I was focused on paying off huge chunks of my mortgage and managed to whittle it down to $75K left. Would you suggest I go ahead and pay that off this year? Or pause and do a mega back door roth instead? I’m mid 40s. Thanks!
