Would it be smart to do a multi-unit so we can rent at least half of it? We’d live in at least a 2 bedroom unit. We’re new to the LA market, but I think there will always be a market for renters. Would it be better to use the money to buy a single family house with more rooms and Airbnb out the guest room? Any thoughts?

Single black female. Late 30s, no kids. Is it better to practice in a smaller market that’s close to major cities, lots of professional opportunities, but no real single professional scene? OR be in a bigger pond/major city with more professional and networking opportunities, oversaturated with lawyers of color, more competition for professional opportunities, but bigger dating pool?

Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" It hasn't explicitly been said, but I'm one of the only Black attorneys at the firm and I think my white colleagues and partners see me as an example of how Black folks "should be" cause I mind my business. Basically I feel like a token, and I don't know how to shift that idea while staying professional.

I don’t cut my hours, I consistently reach 7 hours a day, but it’s not enough to meet my firm’s minimum requirement. I’m usually working 9 hours/day.
