Have you identified the role(s) you're interested in? That would be the starting point. The experience is pretty good, so you can tailor to the type of role you want.

Thank you, C1. I’d like to target COO type roles for small corporations. Or leadership operations roles that focus on integration and restructuring. I know this is quite vague and broad, but hence my challenge. Any advice on what roles will be good targets for me with my experience?

I do think COO roles may be challenging but probably not out of reach. You could get a SM/Director level role in implementation /integration/transformation type roles in a company easily. That's where your skills to manage those areas will be best utilized. And for those type of roles, you'd want to highlight all of what you mentioned: 1. The type of projects 2. The leadership skills 3. Your budgeting skills 4. Your technical skills

Change your external facing title to mirror what you’re looking for in your next opportunity. For example, if you want to do COO type stuff, just label yourself “Operations Transformation Lead” or the like. Every middle / upper management role is PM to an extent.

Thinking about getting into valuations. Anyone have any insights about this path in Big4 and in industry? Specifically I’m wondering: 1) what’s the scope of work like at Big 4? (Is the service line split into industry sector groups, or do some groups do Valuation for tangibles and another does intangibles) 2) how are the hours like? Working 9am - 3am consistently? 3) what exit opportunities exit after the Big 4 experience? 4) how does Compensationfor HCOL seniors/ manager look this year?

I received an offer from KPMG as an advisory associate (75k), and a second one from Grant Thornton as a transformation consultant (70k). Im leaning towards the KPMG position, however I’m wondering about salary negotiations; the Grant Thornton position is in a state where cost of living is 15% cheaper than that of KPMG, and I am also in the process of obtaining my MBA (one more semester left). Any way I can leverage/utilize this information to negotiate a higher salary with KPMG?

Need advice... I am currently a functional lead with limited knowledge of technology. I have around 15 years of experience and generally play a Scrum Master role in various projects. I’ll be hopefully promoted to Manager in next 3 months I want to upscale myself. I am planning to study microservices, APIs and cloud computing, to stay relevant and employable in near future. Is it worth pursuing technical skills at such stage of my career? I am willing to put efforts in right area.

Feel silly reaching out here but would love some perspective. I want to understand how much cash to keep. Currently have $305k in a Marcus account that’s earning nothing. Hi all! Looking for advice! Im starting at an MBB out of undergrad (interned at D). Met my cohort and coworkers tonight at happy hour. Everyone’s super nice but I can’t help but feel drained. A partner probably noticed that I was nervous and actually pulled me aside to tell me it’s ok etc. I’m obv grateful for the opportunity but just worried i will be seen as too introverted or not confident enough and be a problem in front of clients. My MBTI type is also “not consultant-y”. Any advice? TIA!
