In general, Point B is not known for paying well so take that into consideration. It largely depends on your team/ boss. If you’re in the interview stage pre-signing, seek clarity. Their answers should give you a lot of insight.
The equity/ part ownership is largely negligible. Amounts to about ~1.5% of your base salary. Wouldn’t give any significant weight to that, annual increase or not.
No - I currently work at point b. ESOP is 5% of base, and 5% of bonus. So if your base is 200 and your bonus is 50, the esop contribution would be 12,500. That scenario is 6.25% of the 200 base. I agree it’s negligible when weighing comp due to vesting etc. but want to make sure people are working off accurate information.
Compensation goes up based on merit and where your current salary is compared to comp ranges. It’s reviewed twice a year. There isn’t yearly raises, per se.
Bonus is based on utilization. I believe it maxes at 17.5% of salary.
I don’t know how often someone doesn’t get a yearly bump. I’ll find out next week.
Annual salary review process not we’ll defined and highly subjective. It’s part of you Annual & Mid-year discussions, which are largely focused on goals and your progress towards them. I’ve been at Point B for 3 years and my salary has increased by a total of 13% (including two promotions and taking on an Account Leader role).
After recent discussions with recruiters at similar consulting firms, I realize I’m way underpaid at Point B. If you’re looking for a well-paid role in consulting, I suggest looking elsewhere or negotiating a great salary up front since pay raises are few and far between once hired.
