Does Natwest bank pay as competitive as Morgan Stanley Deutsche Bank. I mean Associate in MS and DB ranges from 20 to 30 lakh. However when I tried applying to Natwest expecting 40% hike (30 lpa) on current pay of 21 lakh. They straightway rejected me and said its not in their budget. Is there any financial firm which can pay as competitive to Mumbai banks. Barclays Deutsche Bank Natwest group BlackRock

I left for a senior accountant position and it feels like I am doing staff work. I don’t have a staff to do the grunt work so I think that your concerns are justified...
Thanks for sharing, that’s why I’m holding off although I want to quit so badly lol
My biggest concern with leaving at the senior level for accounting means a slowdown in progression, which is what I’ve seen and heard generally, even tho there are exceptions.
That was exactly my experience ^ and came back to public to make manager and reevaluate at that time.
I would keep holding out for an FP&A job if that's what you want. It sounds like you're close to manager at pwc? If you can stick with it until promo, jumping into an accounting manager position becomes much more doable. But honestly that won't help you get into FP&A; if anything it will make it more difficult.
You could also go in as a senior accountant and transfer over to FP&A later, but that depends how open the company is to doing things like that. One of my coworkers is an accounting transfer.
Totally get it, if it's a year away I would keep applying and assume I'm leaving before then. As for interest in accounting, I've asked myself the same question before lol.
I didn't do audit but I did go through B4 and get my CPA, then left as senior. So far FP&A has been pretty challenging, since I've never done most of this stuff before, like forecasting and modeling. But I like that there's a strategic component to it (although that does comes with high expectations). It's definitely a better fit for me than being a senior accountant.
