Hi folks, how is thoughtworks as an organisation?
Asking because I don't know much about it and have received recruiter's call today. Currently I am working in Deloitte. How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My research gives me a mixed review: some say it's good, some say that thoughtworks is not stable enough like big 4 or other organisations. Pls help Thoughtworks Deloitte
I'm working in Tata Consultancy for last 9months. I got allocated to Deployment team in Kolkata. I'm a quick learner and it was my mistake to learn everything so quickly. I've been forced to work for 12hrs at least regularly. Also, I've been providing night support daily for production (yes!! Production is happening daily) but I'm not getting any overtime pay. My manager is not responding to my mails regarding my dues. What shall I do?? Will HR help me? I'm demotivated and I want to resign. 😞

Something that’s really helped me is committing to a 6am Monday workout class. It’s only one class, but its a low bar to meet, it starts my week off right, reminds me to put myself first and gets my head in the game for the week. I usually make it to a second or third after that but getting that one in early is great. Would love other people’s tips, too.
Think about what’s really important and where you will put your effort and time. You will have time to do some things awesomely but not everything! For me, I keep meals very simple, and donate $$ to school instead of volunteering, for example.
From the showering comment it sounds like you have young children (?). For that phase of life, I reco prepping as much as possible the night before- all clothes ready to go (for you plus kids), bags/lunches packed, dinner planned for next day, take showers/baths, etc. Keep it very simple though!
Thanks! Great advice- and yes to the young children. My concern is night before prep often gets pushed aside because I have to log back in and work quite a bit.
Set some boundaries around your avails. Such as, not available between 5-8 pm. And communicate that out, in a professional way of course.
It is easier and more efficient to get everything done if you have focused chunks of time. Like, before 8 is all kids and next day prep. After kids are in bed, work.
