I was put on PIP after someone from my firm complained I missed some meetings. In those missed meetings I had informed my client and the said resource was junior so it was a pretty harsh punishment imo. Missed out on promo.

I am beyond stuck in my first 1.5 years of my career.

I was over promised opportunities at my first gig and then Covid hit. Leading me to have no portfolio worthy pieces from this 💩 agency with nothing great in sight. (place hasn’t won a pitch in my entire time here + lost clients)

I’m inheriting a “team” of siloed strong individual developers who are on different work streams and are very jaded and struggling with motivation. Most are contractors. They have legit gripes about the client, but I won’t be able to solve those without getting cross-discussions going with knowledge-sharing across our “team“. I was placed on a PIP due to a project where the client didn’t like our work and from there I crushed the PIP and got off of it with no issues. Unfortunately, I was told my work was great and people gave great feedback but I still was placed on it anyway. I was terminated luckily with a 45 day severance package and honestly grateful to have finally been out of there and to a firm I like.
