I work for a mid-sized law firm outside of NYC . I've been with my current firm for over 6 years and earn in the $150k range. the largest raise I've received was $7,500, and the largest bonus was $5,000. A former employer approached me about returning, and they are willing to pay me significantly more. I have some underlying health conditions, and my current firm provides both short-term and long-term disability coverage. The prospective employer does not offer those benefits. What do I do?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission?
